Overview: 1968 Ludwig LM 402 Supraphonic Snare Drum 14” x 6.5” aluminum shell
Status: Used
Description: What else can you say? The Ludwig LM402 is the snare drum of choice of the legendary John Bonham and there is a reason for it; it is an amazing sounding drum! I actually own 3 of these snares and they really are amazing drums. This is also the most copied snare drum design of all time.
Condition: The drum is in perfect condition considering it’s now 51 years old. As is normal for these snares the chrome has some light pitting (see photos). The throw-off works perfectly and never sticks. The drum sounds positively amazing when tuned right. It is important to know that when you receive this drum it will be detuned completely. This is to protect the instrument during shipping. That being said it is important to tune the drum properly to get the best sounding instrument. The snare has new Remo heads and new PureSound snare wires.

*I have a large collection of drums and while most of the new heads have never been played on sometime they have lightly played to tune the drum up. Also I have had local drummers who wanted to buy a snare try it out before buying. Unfortunately they were time wasters and never bought the drum but played the heads a little bit. The point is the heads have never been used or played on at length.
